Yuck, again!?!

I got a call this morning from Ethan's friend's mom, a friend we have a little preschool/playgroup with every Monday, and she told me that her little boy has broken out in hand, foot, and mouth disease. Hopefully Ethan was only exposed on Monday and hasn't been contagious for a week! I feel so bad for everyone he has come in contact with so consider this my heart felt apology! Please don't stop playing with us. I had to turn our ward's playgroup kids away. I got the call as the first mommies were pulling into my house. Darn! Please come back next week! I called my doctor's office and talked to a nurse who told me that the carrier is the one who is the most contagious so I am really hoping that Ethan hasn't spread the stuff. I also checked online, because I didn't think to ask when I had the nurse on the phone, and I found out that kids over 10 usually won't get it. They and adults have built up an immunity to it. But if I were to be farther along and about to have my baby, I may pass it on to her. But, gladly, I have another few months and it should all be passed by then. I will just have to wait up to 5 more days to see if Ethan breaks out! He got hand, foot, and mouth from the same friend last February and got about 3 sores in his mouth and couldn't eat much. He was so lucky, he got pudding for whatever meal he asked it for. This time, I have pudding, yogurt, and applesauce all stocked up!

Keep your fingers and toes crossed that we don't have a break out here because that means that probably you won't have a break out either!

(If I have said anything about the disease wrong, you nurses who check my blog, please leave a comment so the other moms who check my blog will know. I am not a medical person, I studied child development in college, so I believe what my nurse tells me and what I find on medical web sites, sorry if I have misled you!)

What the....

Ethan found Mike's nose hair trimmer (I got it for him because I caught him trimming stray nose hairs with his fingernail clippers and saw an accident about to happen) and didn't quite know what to do with it because this is what I walked in on
The worst part, he pulled out a huge boogar on it!

Finger painting

Of course after a while they both decided to mix the paint and put their whole hand in it. Okay, they had a little coaxing from me. But don't they look like they had a lot of fun?

A personality all her own

I have to warn you, this will be a boring post. I'm doing this for my own benefit so I don't forget what it was like to be pregnant with my little girl.
Here are a few things I have noticed about her and what she likes and what she may not like (I am just guessing from the way she moves and kicks):
--I'm pretty sure she loves it when I pray.
--Loves the sugar that comes from fresh fruit right after I have eaten it.
--Hates it when I try to sleep on my tummy, yup I can still do it.
--I can't tell if she hates or loves chocolate, she moves like crazy when I eat it. I'd like to think she takes after me and loves it and is just asking for more.
--She loves to hear me read to Ethan, and Neleah, the little girl I watch Wednesday mornings.
--She really moves a lot at night when I am relaxing and watching Cosby or House in bed, but when Mike tries to feel her move, she stops. Ethan did this too though.
--If I am really comfy in a position that may not look to comfy, she'll push me right out of it. Can't sit on one leg and let the other one dangle off the couch any more.

A little outta touch

Well just over a week ago our poor laptop that is a day older than Ethan crashed. Luckily, Mike works with fantastic, smart computer people who removed the hard drive and saved my pictures. (Really I didn't care about anything else but my pictures, especially those of the day Ethan was born. Of course I never thought to back them up, but they are now!) We have been computerless since last Wednesday but I have been a visitor at Mom and Dad's and have used their computer a little. I could have used Mike's work laptop, but really, by the time I think to use it, I am so tired that I'd rather go to bed. As of Wednesday or Thrusday, we will have a brand spankin' new computer. A really great one I'd tell you all about but I don't speak computer. All I know is that it will be faster and have more storage space than our laptop. And the best part, Mike got to order it from work and at their cost because they buy so many they get them at a good deal. And we shipped it on the ground so shipping is FREE! Wahoo!
Maybe I'll even get to announce the gender of our baby from our new computer. My ultrasound is Tuesday. I've asked Ethan if he'd like to go see the baby on the TV and he says no! We may just have to buy the DVD of the ultrasound and show it to him.
