Like mother like daughter

We both really like burritos!

Big brother Ethan

Ethan is such a great big brother and helper to me.
When Emma is hungry, he helps feed her...When she is playing, he'll play along with her...
And when she is fussy, which she was, he talks to her and tells her that life and our family aren't so bad...
Ethan has been so good to help out and have patience with a new baby. I am so blessed to have a 3 year old that is so grown up that way. It makes having a newborn so much easier.

Guess what Ethan got?

And he loves it! He has been such a good boy and helper this last week that Emma and I have been home that I decided to reward him with Transformers original first season from 1984! (I figured it was better than letting him watch the movie that came out 2 years ago.)

A quick update

What a great and tiring few days it's been. I am hanging out in the hospital until tomorrow morning and Emma is doing well. She is a little jaundice and has been under the billi lights since yesterday morning. Her billi count is going down and the pediatrician says she should be good to go home tomorrow with me. Now, we really hope we don't have to put her under the lights at home, but if we do, I guess there isn't a way around it, right? She's perfect otherwise.

My room only has a VCR so my mom, being as awesome as she is, sent some VHS movies for me to watch. There are a few channels on the TV but I really miss my HGTV.

Before I checked in to the hospital, I got some new smelly lotion and body wash. I always feel better when I smell good. I got and brought Bath and Body Works newest scent, Butterfly Flower. It smells fantastic and I have gotten many compliments today. The housekeeping lady said she could smell it in the hall outside my room. Anyone looking for a good scent, there ya go.

I know this is a boring post, especially because there are no pictures, but I have more to come. Ethan has warmed up to Emma and I have a few good pictures of them and I hope to get more once she is home. Thank you to all of you for your love and support at this time in our lives!

Happy Birthday Emma!

Hey All, Karen has requested that I share some photos of the new baby. I'm not much of a blogger but here goes.....

Emma Herrington arrived this morning at 7:46 AM via Csection. She weighed in at 6 pounds 13 ounces, and was 18 and a half inches long. Both baby and Mom are doing great. I'm super excited to have a daughter, and I want K, Ethan and Emma to know how much I love them. I know that you all want to see her, so here are some pics.

Nesting?

I am just a few days away from having this baby and shouldn't I been cleaning like mad? I remember when I was pregnant with Ethan, I dusted my apartment twice a week, on top of making sure the kitchen and bathroom were clean and that the carpet was vacuumed and the tile floors were swept. But right now, all I really feel like doing is putting my feet up and reading a book. I did break down and clean my kitchen, but only the counters and sweeping the floor. The floor really needs to be mopped but I just don't have the motivation to do it, even though it's so easy. I haven't dusted in I won't say how long and I don't have a desire to dust. I wonder if there is a way I can guilt Mike into cleaning the house while I am in the hospital with the new baby....

I am very excited that I am going to have a new baby soon and I will try to remember to ask Mike to bring his laptop to the hospital so that come Thursday noon, there will be pictures of our new baby girl!

New jammies and the temple

Ethan has been growing so big so fast that I had to get him some new jammies. He picked them out and could see the dinosaurs from a mile away. I didn't even see them, the jammies, right away. He's pretty excited to put jammies on these days.Last week we went with my family to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. I went the week before with the youth in our ward and loved it. It was so cool to take Ethan inside the temple for the first time. He has wanted so badly to be able to go inside and he got his chance. I thought that he behaved himself pretty well. The best part was when we got to the Celestial Room and he didn't want to leave.
My mom had a hard time getting Ethan to look at the camera so she tricked him, hence the goofy face he has. And I am about ready to pop, hence the big feet, face, and belly. And Mike just looks great!
