I love having my own bed

This morning Ethan woke up earlier, a lot earlier, than he usually does. I was still sleeping so I made him climb in bed with me so I could rest. He rested too, with his feet and knees in my back. It really made me appreciate the fact that he sleeps in his own bed and so do I, Mike's there, but his feet and knees stay out of my back. Thanks, Mike!

Who?

I saw this on my friend's blog, so I took it. My favorite Disney Princess is Aurora and I thought, maybe I'd be like her. Well, I looked at the results and I was on 11% like her, oh well. Here's who I am most like and if anyone knows who she is, please let me know!

Happy Birthday, Grandma

Today is my favorite Utah Grandma's birthday and I just wanted to take a second to let her and the whole bloggin' world how much I love her and how great she really is. I love to sit on her lap while she plays the piano and then we sing together "Old McDonald Had a Farm" and "BINGO" and "I've Been Workin' on the Railroad." Here is a one of my favorite pictures of us, if you are a regular at out blog, you may have seen it, but it's a good one--
Singing away at the piano!
Grandma loves to buy fun stuff for me and my cousins! And she has kept all of my mom and aunt's and uncles' old toys from the 70's and 80's. The old Fisher Price farm that moos, she's got it. The old circus train, yup, I love that toy. She is the best Grandma! Not only will she buy us toys and spoil us rotten, she actually gets down on the floor to play with us. And when I wanted to put all of Diego's animals upside-down and then be upside-down myself, here's what she did--

Ya ya you regulars have seen this before too, but doesn't it look like fun?

Well Grandma, I really hope you have a fun day and enjoy the present I got you. I picked it out all by myself and am so excited to give it to you in just a few hours. We'll see you soon--Happy Birthday and I love you lots--

love Ethan

So simple

We inherited a "scraggley" as Mike puts it, bush in our front yard when we bought our house. I love it and it is so pretty when it is in bloom. I chopped it down to it's bare nothings the beginning of Spring and it has grown a lot. And yes, it looks pretty scraggley when there isn't any flowers and when it is growing. But today as I was watering my flowers this is what I found
It may not look like much now, but when there are tons more flowers it'll be my favorite plant again.

Tagged!--part 1

Brenda tagged me and I cannot for the life of me get more than 5 pictures on a post! How can I get more? So you will have to check my tag out in 2 parts! Have fun!
#1 Post a picture of your kitchen sink as it looks at this very moment!
Good thing I just cleaned the kitchen!
#2 Post a picture of your toilet

Oops, I think that's a dirty diaper you can see in the garbage.

#3 Post a picture of you laundry room Not really a room, more of a closet, just like yours, Brenda. We're still working on making that look better with a shelf, but hey, anyone remember what it looked like when we moved in? No curtains, and I don't know for sure if closet doors will fit and not scratch my washer and dryer every time I open and close them. But I did get these cute curtains that match my paint in my family room. They were $10 at Target, on clearance!

#4 Post a picture of the inside of your fridge

All the necessities, especially what's on the bottom shelf, to the right.

#5 Post a picture of what your kids/husband are doing right now Lucky me! Right as I finished looking at Brenda's post and saw she tagged me, I ran upstairs and Ethan was poopy and Mike was home (Mike gets those when he's here), and this is what I found!

Keep reading and find out my next few items and who I tagged, it just might be you!

Tagged!--part 2

.....Okay part 2.....
#6 Show your favorite shoes.

These are so comfy and I love wearing them! And I feel a little sexy when I do.
#7 Your favorite room

I love my new couches, I love my new piano, and I love my glider rocker that is only partly visible in the right corner. I think I like this room the most because it has our nicest furniture.

#8 Your closet Here it is, in all it's glory! Are you impressed?

#9 Your dream vacation

5 years ago, right after Mike and I started dating, we went to Las Vegas to visit Kristen and her family. While we were there, Mike and I went to the strip to see all the sights. We went to Paris and paid the big bucks to ride the elevator to get to the top of the Eifel Tower. We watched the Bellagio's fountain show and had a lot of fun. Since then, we have always wanted to go to the real Paris. Whether we make it or not, it's my dream vacation with Mike.

#10 Self-portrait as you look RIGHT NOW! Okay so this picture was taken yesterday. I didn't have time to post this tag yesterday because we were headed out the door to the pool. Need I say more?

I tag--Julie, Christy, Jenessa, and Clarissa!

Our swimming adventure

Yesterday we went to the PG pool and had a lot of fun. We were only there for about 2 hours, but it was well worth it. It's been in the low 90's here, not as hot as Vegas, but hot enough we have needed something to do to cool off. There are 2 water slides at the pool. Ethan wanted to go down so badly, he loves slides and hits them every time we go to the park. I thought he was too short and wouldn't be able to go down even with Mike. I was wrong. Mike took Ethan down the slides three times. It was fun to wait at the bottom of the slides for them. I didn't go down because, I know this is lame, but I had a meeting last night and I didn't want to shower before I went. So I tried to keep my hair as dry as possible. I know lame, huh? Next time we go, I'll go down the slides too.

After a few hours in the pool, we went to Wendy's for dinner. Mmm, chicken and fries. Then it was off to home to get ready for my meeting. Ethan was tuckered and went straight to bed at 8:00, or so I'm told, I wasn't home. It was a great day and we can't wait to go again.

(I think I saw my holy terror of a preschooler there at the pool. I saw his mom and I think I saw him, I didn't run back to see if it really was him that I saw when I saw his mom. I know he's like 8 by now, but I think I would have recognized him!)

Pool time!

Monday was such a beautiful day, so I decided to pull out our pool we got last year. Shh, it has a little hole in the bottom, but if the bottom is folded just the right way, it plugs so no water drains out. Ethan had a blast, once he got in and played. I just soaked my feet. The water was really cold, but the outside weather was so hot that the cold on my feet made me feel lots cooler.
I pulled our little slide over to the pool so Ethan could slide down the pool into the water. The slide is a little short, but it works fine.
Oooo, cold water. But very refreshing.
He got used to it, so used to it he was chattering and I had to convince him to get out and warm up. He was right back in the pool after just a few minutes in a warm towel and the sun.
This afternoon we are heading to the Pleasant Grove pool. Mike has the afternoon off so it will be a whole family thing. I am excited and I think Ethan is too.

Lily, Gavin, Pizza, and a Rino

No pictures of Ethan and Grandpa Callister, yet. He will be here for a few more days and I hope to get a picture of the two of them and when I do, it will be posted for all to see.

Yesterday we were able to have Ethan's best friends Lily and Gavin come over to play for a few hours while their parents were shopping for birthday presents for Gavin-Happy Birthday, Gavin! It was so fun to have the two of them over. Ethan loves them and I do too. They all play together so nicely and because Lily is 4 years older, she mothers them and it helps me out a lot. Tina-she is welcome anytime! And send a broom! :) I made pizza for dinner and Lily and Gavin joined us for dinner.
Here they are. Aren't they so cute? Notice that Lily has eaten all her pizza, Gavin has eaten most of his, and well Ethan, he didn't like the spices I put on it!
Today we headed off to the Bean Museum, again. Ethan has been itching to go for a week. The price is right so after all our yard work was done, we hopped in the car and drove to Provo. We had fun and Ethan got to see all the animals. He loves animals and remembers what is there and knows right where to go to see what.

Here he is with his favorite, the rino! I guess he was trying to read the info about it on the plaque to the left.

Grandpa Callister and the trampoline!

Today we headed down to Aunt Grace's to hang out and have lunch, we were going to swim, but the water was too cold. That's fine with me! Instead of swimming, the kids played and all but Ethan and Jono jumped on the tramp with the sprinkler on. I don't know why Ethan is so timid about the water, he loves the bath. But before jumping with water, Ethan and his (second) cousins jumped on the tramp. He was so funny I just had to take a picture. Here he is with Jane.
He's really not scared, just saying, "CHEESE!"
All by himself! (He loves to do things all by himself and then tell you that he did it, "All by myself!" So funny!
Before we left, I told him we were going to go to Aunt Grace's house to play with the kids. He wasn't too thrilled until I told him that he would see Grandpa Callister again. (We hung out with him yesterday and he is now one of Ethan's favorite people, next to Daddy.) When he knew we'd see Grandpa, he jumped all over and got super excited. When Grandpa got to Aunt Grace's, Ethan jumped for joy again. After this next week, he'll have to wait until the end of July to see Grandpa again, but it'll be worth it becuase at that time, Ethan will get to see all Grandpa's cows!

Ethan shares now!

Last week, when there were only 4 youth who showed up to the combined YM/YW activity, we went to my house for ice cream bars. Ethan was playing with his dinosaurs, what a shocker, and shared with one of our young women. She is handicapped and loves puzzles and toys. The next day, I had a presidency meeting at my house and she came with her mom, (her mom is in the presidency). Again, Ethan shared with her. The other counselor came with her little boy who is 17 months old. Ethan would have shared with him, but he just wanted to wander, which was fine. Then yesterday, we had to go to the craft store to get some things for our activity last night, gold leafed color transpancies of the temple, I asked one counselor to come with me so she could get some things with Robert's 40% off coupon too, to help out on the YW budget. I told Ethan that we were going to see James, the same little boy who came over last week and he, Ethan, shared his toys with. To that, Ethan responded, "I shared my toys with Teela, too!" I was so proud that he shared. Anyone who knew Ethan a year ago, knows that everything is his. He still claims this, but is getting better.

Pictures for Kristen and Brenda

Okay ladies, I'm not sure what you really wanted to see, if anything. But here goes...

Here is one of my pots I put together Monday afternoon. Ethan helped a little too.
Here's the other one. Similar, but different.
This is my flower bed next to the drive way. Way back in the left corner there is a bleeding heart that Mom gave me. I was so excited the other day to see that it has grown!
Here is half of my flower bed in the front yard. (The other half looks pretty much the same.)
Here is the big, ugly potted rose bush in my front yard. Mike gave it a good cut down when it first started getting warm and it has gotten out of control. But, there are a few roses blooming and there will be a lot more. Hopefully, it's pretty.
There you go Kristen and Brenda! I hoped you liked the pictures. There isn't anything too exotic there. Snap dragons, rhododendrums, (I think that's how it's spelled?) perenials, and a few other bushes that I can't remember. I just bought what I thought would look pretty. So far, they are surviving. I'll keep watering them like crazy so they look great the rest of the season.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Man it seems like this week I have been going, going, going and not stopping. Monday, I added a lot more flowers to my flower beds, thanks Mom for your leftovers. I also had to add a lot of other stuff to my flower beds because our soil is yucky and won't allow anything to grow well. I spent 2 hours in the yard just in the morning. Then Ethan and I headed to Lowe's to buy more flowers to plant in some pots to put on our front porch. That, along with a few other projects, took another hour and a half! I was so tired Monday night I tried going to bed at 7, but got stopped by FHE and putting Ethan to bed.
Tuesday we went to Aunt Grace's, that was so fun! Sorry, Catherine about the no picture thing. I totally forgot my camera. That night I had young women's and had to run to Macey's to get a treat for after our combined YW/YM activity. We were going on a service scavengar hunt and guess how many youth showed up? 4!! Now, usually we only have about 10, but 4? Our bishopric member over us said we could just go home. I invited the youth over to my house to get some ice cream. We'll have to try that again when we think we can get more youth there.
Wednesday I had a presidency meeting and had to clean my house. I even mopped my floors, aren't you proud Mom? I also had 2 weeks worth of ironing to do. Mike has to wear shirts and ties to work so he needs ironed shirts. It felt like a very full day. Eventhough it was a little less hectic than I thought it would be. Ethan and I were able to have lots of fun.
Today has been a GREAT day. While we missed Taylor, Jane, Hannah, and Jono, we hope they get better, and you too, Julie! Mike came home early, at 2, and I wanted to have a Happy Thursday party, kind of like a birthday party I made up, but Ethan wasn't too into the idea of making cup cakes. Darn! But we sure did have a lot of fun playing with his dinosaurs and animals. He put them all in a pile and had his matchbox cars go to their party. It was so fun.
The best thing about this week has been that Ethan has been such a good kid! Monday, he did get in my way while I was working on the yard, he got into the hose and sprayed everything, but other than that, he's been great! He is mischevious, but he's great too! What would my life be like without him?

He fell in this time

Today we went to Aunt Grace's again for a very last minute lunch and pool party. After lunch when all the other kids were getting ready to swim, Ethan refused to put on a swim diaper and he told me he wanted to just play with the toys. I said fine. I didn't know if taking him over by the pool to put his feet in if he'd change his mind. I sat down and put my feet in and he splashed his feet for a few seconds, then he got up. He was putting a water noodle in the water when it fell in, he reached a little too far and fell in. Luckily I was there to pull him out. It was a good thing I brought an extra shirt! Hopefully he'll want to jump in a swim later in the summer!

Hair cut, Indy, and Pizza

We had a great Saturday. First, I got a hair cut. It's pretty short, much like Kate from Jon and Kate plus 8. (I'm still getting used to it so it looks funny.) Then, thanks to my parents, Mike and I went to see the new Indiana Jones movie. It was fabulous! I loved it! I'd definitely tell you all to go see it. After the movie, Mike and I went to dinner with some friends. We kind of lost track of the time and didn't get back to picking up our kids from their grandparents' houses until late. Unfortunately, we have early church so the kids didn't get a lot of sleep, but Ethan took a nearly 3 hour nap he was so tired.

Thanks Mom and Dad for watching Ethan so Mike and I could go out all by ourselves!
