Gavin's birthday!

Ethan loves his bf Gavin! And when he had his birthday this week and we were invited for yummy cake and ice cream, we were all over that! (And not just for Ethan's sake!)
Ethan loves the hulk too
Gavin and Ethan "fighting"
No one really got hurt, they just had lots of fun!
Ethan and Gavin with the present that Ethan got for Gavin. (Ethan picked it out himself and was so proud of it.)
Happy birthday Gavin!
We sure do think you're awesome!!

Naughty girl?

I guess she was putting herself in time out!

10 on Tuesday

(Again, vering from this week's topic, but I already had this one planned when I found out what the topic was for this week. You'll like this one better, I just know it!)
*10 favorite pictures from last week*
I pulled out the slip and slide I bought last year...I was too hot, tired, and prego to even feel like pulling it out for Ethan. Thanks to my sister for taking him to the pool all the time and keeping him cooled off.
Here are Emma and Ethan ready for the fun to start
I love this picture so much I put it at the top of my blog and as my background on my computer-one that will be printed for sure! Who wants a copy?
"Wahoo!!"

Don't you just love her balerina swimsuit? Thanks Tina for the suggestion!
Ethan needs a pool don't you think? It's on the list for tomorrow's trip to Target!
Getting all wet and having fun.
After slipping and sliding, we needed popsicles

The only bad thing about the popsicles, the purple stained Emma's brand new suit!! Arg! I researched and found that if you pour boiling water over grape juice stains the water will remove the stains. It did! I boiled three pots of water and poured them over the stain and most of it was removed. All but in one part, I won't say where, but anyone who notices will have their face slapped! It only took me 45 minutes to remove the stain. Whatever, at least it's gone and her really cute suit isn't ruined. Though I do have another one, I'm just not sure it will fit her this early in the season.
I pulled these out and Ethan and I had a water fight.
I chased him and he chased me around the backyard squirting each other. I swear my neighbor through the chain link fence must think I'm crazy! We did have fun though.

We love books!!

While Mike and Ethan are doing this, Emma is doing this...
She pulls all the books, or most of them, off the shelf and "reads" them. She doesn't like to sit still to read a book with Ethan, but she'll do this.
Fine by me!

Day in the sun

Before we went to play outside, Emma found her ibuprofen bottle and chewed it. I think she must be getting her second top tooth because she is always reaching for the ibupofen and chewing on everything.
Emma loved the sandbox. She found the shovels and hoes and knew just what to do. Now, she just needs to figure out how to get in the sandbox for more fun!
She's been walking around the furniture a lot the last few days so I got this out.
She seems to know what to do, just unsure of how secure she feels to take a step.
We love to swing and Ethan loves to pull faces at the camera.

Oh, sweet Emma!

Like I said before, we will be spending A LOT of time outside this summer.

I can't wait to get a new kiddie pool this week...

Grass

I just had to snap this picture of Emma playing in the grass...so cute!
We played outside, a lot, yesterday. During play group and then when Mike mowed the lawn. The kids would rather be outside versus inside anytime of the day. Emma usually crawls away while playing in the front yard, it's where she'd rather be. She just wants to be one if the big kids and she is anxious to walk followed by run to be with them.
And I know the grass is so long! Really it's only been a week and look at it after Mike mowed just some of the grass...
I guess the fertilizer he used really works!!!
And when Mike had to move the swing set while Ethan, Emma, and I were playing on it, this is what happened.
I love the look on her face. Something like, "What are you doing, Dad?"
Ethan dressed up like some kind of super hero with his outside toys.
And he drove around on his scooter with the other neighborhood kids.I don't know why he scooters like this, kind of funny though.
And to end the night off, Ethan and the kids got in a water fight. He came home SOAKED! He took some of his clothes off outside, but not all of them. They went straight outside to dry, but his jeans still weren't dry this morning.
At least he had fun, right.
*Note to self: get a super soaker
*Note to the neighbor girl: DO NOT SQUIRT MY BABY OR MY HUSBAND IN THE FACE WITH YOUR SQUIRT GUN AGAIN!!
(You didn't get me cause I ran inside for just a second, but I did hear Mike ask you to stop squirting him a few times!)

10 on Tuesday

10 Favorite memories of my dad
(I just had to put this picture here, it's one of my favorites. I know Mom, I'm sorry I didn't get the picture of us from my wedding on here for mother's day!)
1. Dad teaching me to drive my stick shift car at the Orem City Cemetary-lots of hills to start on!
2. He fixed my big wheel when I was about Ethan's age. He took (I think) Jane's red Strawberry Shortcake wheel and put it on my pink and white big wheel. I thought it was so cool.
3. Making home made ice cream and root beer.
4. Anything associated with his laugh.
5. His Lake Powell language!
6. When I was little, I was in the BYU children's creative dance program and my dad used to come pick me up after work. Those were some fun conversations.
7. Taking me, and lots of others, to the lake on Saturday mornings to ski.
8. When I was in 6th grade I fell off my bike and scraped my arm pretty good. Dad put a big bandage on it and I was worried that I'd get made fun of, but he told me to tell them that my dr said I need it (and he has his PhD so he is a Dr, right?)
9. He was, and still is, always fixing things. Around our house a lot in the last 3 years.
10. When I was a little girl I used to go to his office with my mom to pick him up, I'd get out of the car and stand in front of the one way mirrored windows at his office to get his attention to let him know we were there, I'd wave until I saw him come out the door.
